A train derailment in Wyoming, Ohio has prompted a shelter in place in the immediate area. It happened around 8 p.m. when three train cars derailed on Wyoming Avenue.

CSX said one of the railcars contained plastic pellets and lost some of its contents as a result of the derailment.

One of the two other tank cars was loaded and the third was empty, neither are leaking.

The immediate area was originally evacuated but in an update, the city of Wyoming said that hazmat crews have advised that no hazardous materials have leaked from any of the derailed tank cars and that residents can return home and shelter in place.

"A non hazardous and non flamable white plastic pellet called “Hop Flake” powder has leaked from one car and it is contained to the are of the derailment site," the city said.

Officials said CSX is on site working to clear the area and they hope to have the tracks open within the next 12 hours.
